(Apologies for the bad quality, the GIF wouldn't upload)
(If you want me to send you the GIF, let me know in the comments.)
I used SketchBookX to create the frames for this GIF. The annoying thing about this particular GIF was that I had to manually recolor each individual box with the fill tool. I initially tried to erase the lines in between, but when I used fill, the erased white and the existing white weren't close enough, and it filled only the erased part, creating a bumpy blob. If anyone knows a way around that, please let me know in the comments. However, this was a good experience for me because I created the whole thing from scratch with no base besides the grid, something I can't say about the bomb GIF.
To improve this, I would have made extra frames so that it wouldn't be so jumpy. It looks to me like each curve moves forward, then back a little, then jumping forward a lot, and I don't like that as much. while making this, I didn't know how it would turn out because of the nature of how I make GIFs. I make each frame, send them to myself, put in order in GIFmaker, and make what you see. Making this had inspired me to keep making 8-bit GIFs due to the fact that I know that I can make them from scratch.

Here are some process photos. I download my grids from Incompitech. The second photo is the framework for the GIF. The third photo shows when I tried to erase the lines in between the black to fill easier. It didn't work for reasons listed above. The fourth photo is filling in the first frame. I researched rainbow swirl GIFs earlier in the trimester, and they inspired me to make this.
